Tweety's brother: Matthews to run for lieutenant governor (PA).
<snip>
Montgomery County Commissioner Chairman James Matthews, a Republican, is running for Pennsylvania lieutenant governor.

County GOP chairman Ken Davis confirmed that Matthews will announce his candidacy early next month.

Matthews acknowledged Tuesday that letters were sent out to Republicans but he did not wish to comment further.

"He is an excellent candidate," Davis said. "He has a lot of energy, good ideas and he speaks well. He also adds a lot of strength to the (gubernatorial) ticket by being from Montgomery County."

4. To be fair - that's his brother. I have THREE pubbie brothers and I would
hate to be considered a pubbie just because they are. Pubbie sister and Mom too - though Mom did vote for Nader in 04 because she doesn't like junior's war.

14. Fixed Salary

When the economy is good, prices increase. Yet, teachers, nurses and the like see less increase in their income than most everybody else. Conversely, members of these professions are unlikely to lose their jobs when the economy is bad.

So in an odd way, these professions do relatively better in bad economic times and would therefore have a good (but selfish) reason for voting Republican.

Oddly enough, it was a Republican nurse who explained this to me. She surprisingly admitted that she votes for Republicans because she WANTS the economy to get worse.

21. yes but if republicans had there way
teachers would not enjoy the kind of quality of life they do at this point. Vouchers would kill public education, and parochial school teachers are not paid anywhere near what public school teachers are. They are totally anti teacher. Bush's secretary of education called the NEA a terrorist organization. I was totally unaware that my mom was a terrorist all these years. Who woulda thunk?

18. I hope Tweety's brother hits Tweety with a drumstick at the Thanksgiving
table. (But he probably won't, since Tweety does such a good job promoting repuke causes--such as letting Lindsey Graham go on and on and on the other day, yammering about how un-American torture is while simultaneously seeking to end habeas corpus so the government can imprison and torture people without fear of curtailment.)

DEFEAT TWEETY'S BROTHER!!!
