C&L Audio, Alan Colmes show - George McGovern: Bush 41 against Iraq War
George McGovern: Bush 41 against Iraq War

George was on the Alan Colmes radio show and said that he knows from several mutual friends that Bush 41, along with his Secretary of State James Baker and National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft, were against invading Iraq in 2003.

Audio-MP3

He also explains the reasons why Bush 41 didn't want to remove Saddam from power after Iraqi troops were forced out of Kuwait in the first Gulf War.

1. So instead of avenging his Daddy....
...chimpshmuck just wants to show Daddy that he's got a bigger johnson now? Gee, did these two follow Dobson's advice 50 some odd years ago?

5. It's already well established...

...that Dubya is "Barbara's favorite." From past history, including his "mano a mano" challenge to fight back during his boozing days, to the reports from the Moonie Times that 43 won't even talk to 41 except at family social events, it's obvious that there are more than a few Oedipal issues going on here.

2. rotten scum that bush41 was, shrub makes him look almost good
at least bush41 understood that any meaningful 'regime change' had to at least appear to come from within iraq. thinking we could just go in and conquer a country and impose democracy at gunpoint was always an idiotic conceit.

4. actually, I suspect that is common knowledge in those circles
For all the moral failings of Bush Sr. he was far more a pragmatist than an ideologue. Brent Scowcroft who is and was a staunch right wing Conservative once referred to the neocon gang as a bunch of right wing nuts.

6. I still swear
I saw Bush 41 on a news show (maybe the Today show?) They asked him what he thought about the war and he said "I'm against it and you will never hear me speak about it again"

blood on his hands, not to mention his family business is in war profiteering. You can trace the familie's involvement back to pre World War II.
