Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson Supporting Clark

Today I received an email, through the Clark campaign, from Steenburgen and Danson urging support of Wes Clark. Apparently, she's known him since childhood; their mothers were best friends who worked together.
Here's a piece of the email:

"But the support that Ted and I pledge to Wes goes beyond our cherished friendship with him and Gert. The fact is, Wes is the most qualified candidate to lead our country at a time when we so desperately need new leadership. He alone has the character, wealth of experience, and vision to move America ahead and help us achieve our great promise as a nation.

We need Wes Clark as our next President, and we know what we must do to help him get elected. Ted and I are committed to doing everything we can to ensure Wes' nomination this spring, and we're greatly looking forward to continuing our support into the 2004 general election against George W. Bush."

I don't put a lot of weight on celebrity endorsements, but I thought this was interesting, and I happen to agree with what they have to say.

Easy Dean supporters, I know a lot of you are smart too. I'm just saying a lot of trends begin in California...

Well, Meathead, your candidate is the only governor in the whole of the states to SIGN INTO LAW an anti-flag-burning amendment.

I read an article on an Australian site that tells that
the well respected and talented American director Richard Donner
maker of such films as the lethal Weapon movies and hundreds more is
a Clark supporter. This is the paragraph from the article. It is
about half way down in the article.


Donner is proudly American and during his interview with AAP wears a
badge promoting Retired Army General and US presidential candidate
Wesley Clark. But as patriotic as Donner is, he understands every
movie he makes cannot be made in the US.
