Assisted Suicide
If I have an incurable disease, why should I have to stay alive and suffer physical pain and my family incur financial ruin? Why? Because religious zealots value my life? Because religious zealots choose to direct the political landscape of our country in a tax free status? Fuck the zealots. They have no business in our sex lives and they have no business in our medical considerations. Unless, of course, they choose to give up their tax exempt status. Preach hate tax exempt preachers, but keep your hate confined to your congregation. You all are starting to piss alot of people off. A special thankyou to the good folks of Dover, PA who slapped the bitches down in their recent election kicking out the insane school board members who wanted to force religion on their students. If you bitches want to give up your tax exempt status then you can engage in the political conversation, otherwise enjoy your religious freedoms, I enjoy mine, and I ain't forcing anything on you, its really quite simple.

1. Talk to a relative you trust.
for help. My mother was supplied with a lethal dose of Dalmane by my dad who got two scrips filled and never used them. They were within her reach until she died. She never used them, but knowing they were there gave her a lot of peace, and she stopped begging me to help her die.

I didn't know about it until after she died, my dad fessed up. I thanked him.

2. We're always free to suffer and die
and they have no problem with that. Soldiers in Iraq. Katrina victims. The millions without health insurance. But to be allowed to painlessly end one's life, that's a crime. In America. Only in America.

3. the funny thing is most of the people who think they
have something to say on this issue have never had to personally confront anything more harrowing than a hangnail.

They live armchair lives - for everyone else. Not a woman? Not working poor? Not gay? Never had to deal with a potential loss of dignity?

Well then you too can have a weighty opinion on abortion, where people should live, who they can marry, and how they should choose to live and end their lives.

It's the republican way. It's the way of the religious right. Their rights matter more than anyone else's.
