I'm setting her scratching my head wondering...
the repugs are saying they will start to withdraw troops next year, and according to this mornings paper rumsfeld said "it's time for Iraqi troops to assume more responsibility for their country's security." Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that EXACTLY what Murtha asked for? So what the hell was all the hub-bub???:wtf:

1. Well, apparently the Repubs now hate America, and

are cowards. I mean, according to themselves.

Public opinion polls are a BITCH!

2. They are just buying time.
They'll use strategery to start pulling out shortly before the 2006 elections.

5. I realize that, I was just wondering why they made such a big stink
out of Murtha calling for withdraw in 6 months and then they turn around and say that's their plan? Not even enough time for the public to forget about the ruckus.

3. Well, the Pubs sure don't want people thinking they're using a Dem
idea!!!

This is the same BS as they pulled when the Dems shut down the Senate and demanded the report on the investigation of how the intelligence was used in the lead up to the war. They said they were already working on it and all the Dems would have had to do was ask!

In both cases, they're trying to make everyone believe these ideas were already in the works!

6. They have increased the troop level because of the elections and

the withdrawl is just a return to the prior levels. It is all smoke and mirrors.

7. It's a big deal because ...
They said the same thing last year about bringing troops home and they keep lying about how many Iraqi troops are ready to take up the fight.

8. In Bush's speech today he babbled on and on
Edited on Wed Nov-30-05 03:25 PM by lyonn
about how many battalions and trained troops Iraq had. He said something about 80 Iraqi battalions and 40 battalions were war ready, and then kept using the term battalions and ready troops until it hit me that he is preparing to reduce the U.S. troops in the country because they have "trained and ready Iraqis to take over for us", ya, right. The repubs have an election to worry about, can't lose the congress to the dems, the powerful in place now could be charged with war crimes. So getting the vote apparently will be more important than the oil, at least for the moment.
