Did * Coin A New Term Yesterday - Saddamists?.......

this is the first time I've heard this term used. Is this something new or have I been hiding under a rock and just not heard this before.

I just noticed Biden used the same term when being interviewed on CNN just now.

"What's the Plan Stan" - Biden's new talking point.

Agree's with the pResident (though a lot of reporters are calling him Mr. Bush now) - but wants to know what the plan is.

the sub-conscious message is that we are fighting
enemies who practice "Saddamy".....

I know it sounds like a joke, but the fact that
it's been picked up by Biden already shows that it's
gotten under the skin of at least one
low functioning public official.

3. Quick-googled it for ya--

Bob Somerby used this term in 2003 http://www.dailyhowler.com/dh041703.shtml and, from a glance at other sources on Google's page one, seems the term has been in use for some time.

And isn't the accent on the second syllable? So it wouldn't really sound like "sodomists"? I think all the war apologists are just searching for a way to get away from the term insurgents, and the resentment of the occupation that implies.

7. I have a theory as to why

A State Dept guy (can't remember his rank, sorry) interviewed for the docuementary "Iraq: The Reckoning", which aired last week, said that there was some movement towards the following: in the Sunni areas, cede power to the Baathist insurgency in the hope that once in power, they will help defeat the Sunni fundamentalist "al-Qaeda" insurgency.

If this thinking is spreading from beyond this guys area, it is possible that the Bush administration will from now on try to seperate "Saddamist" from "Baathist" so it doesn't appear that they are giving power to the same party they were once bitterly opposed to.
