Have The Attacks (Info) On Your Candidate Changed Your Mind\Vote ???
So much bandwidth being used here, just wondering if any of it is having the desired effect.

I'm still Dean, and still ABB!!!

Are you still with your candidate? Are you ABB?

1. Nope, WillyT
I still support my candidate and am positively ABB. I will admit that attacks from other candidate's supporters do lower my excitement level for some of the field. But that will probably heal over in time.

BTW, I do mean "attacks": misstatements, attack threads, snide comments on a pro-candidate thread, etc. I don't mean questions on issues, stances, "electibility", and the like.

The attacks contribute to my undecidedness. I'm waiting to see if any of this shit being thrown around will actually stick.

It has been my contention all along that these flame fests change no ones mind. We all know who we want and it is doubtful that any meaningful amount of folks here will change.

4. Nope, hasn't changed mine (Dean)
And ABBBNMSTVFL (Anybody But Bush But Need Many Scotches To Vote For Lieberman.)

In most cases, the gleeful posting of negative stories about Dean doesn't bother me cuz it's so pathetically stoopid, obvious, and ineffectual. I mean, who really thinks, after 4th grade, that if you trash someone else it makes you look better. Ditto the ones who piss and moan about electibility and say that if you support Dean you are one step above drooling and wetting yourself. (Great way to win folks over.)

In some cases, when I think Dean has done/said stuff that supplies fodder for negative stories and find that other reasonable people here have the same take, I want to give him the forehead slap, but thus far no reason to change.

The only ones that piss me off are the ones that toss perjoratives like "liar" around and then work overtime to twist and spin to somehow make it stick. (It doesn't)

Sorry, great gang that most of you guys are, you're also totally anonymous and for my main candidate, I look to him and his campaign, rather than my faceless friends here.

All that being said, I DO find that my Number Two choice has changed quite a bit, and what's said here has affected it.

That's why currently Edwards is my second choice - I really love the way he phrases his economic message and he, like his supporters here, are probably the most genial and balanced. The rest are down from there, jockeying mentally in my tiny li'l brain, and some of that has to do with the idiocies displayed here by supporters. If I really DID feel I wanted to switch from Dean, though, I do a helluva lot more reading and listening and research than just coming here.

14. Still for Clark
Y'all can attack the General all you want, but my mind is made up. I don't pay any attention to the attacks on Governor Dean either because my mind is already made up about him, too. I will never support Dean for the primary.

That said, if Dean gets the nomination, I will go to the polls next November, hold my nose firmly and pull the lever for Dean, because I know I do not have the luxury of being picky this time around. I would rather have 4 years of Dean than 4 more years of Smirk.

18. I am strongly in
the Kucinich camp, and have been since last January/February. I am also determined to oust Bush with whoever gets the nomination.

One thing has changed:

Due to agressive attack campaigning, one candidate has dropped from the top to my bottom tier. And I can't say that a vote for that candidate would be enthusiastic or hopeful. But, should he be nominated, he will have my vote.

the high esteem I had for some of the other candidates has gone down the tubes. We are seeing great examples of demagoguery from some.

ABB, of course, but I wouldn't eat 20 straight days of ramen to contribute to his campaign if the nominee's not DK.Would probably work hardest to unseat our slimy Repig representative rather than work my buns off in the Presidential campaign.

And it appears that I am not alone in ignoring the repete, repete, repete of the usual squad of attackers.

38. Howard Dean just called me a Republican
I am a life- long liberal Democrat. This is my first and possibly last post to DU. I have lurked here for months. I have been a subscriber to Democrats.com and Truthout since their inception. I don't agree with the DLC on every issue. I do, however, think that it is necessary for any Democratic nominee to have the support of the entire Democratic Party. Personally, I have more in common with the DLC than I do with Howard Dean. This statement really ticked me off. I have never been a swing voter. I have always voted my conscience rather than my pocketbook.
For the record. I am supporting Clark, Kerry and/or Edwards. My main issues are national security, education and health care. If Dean gets the nomination, he's made it clear that he doesn't want my vote.
