How far into the sand can Condi
stick her head?

Condi goes on offensive over secret CIA jails
Sarah Baxter, Washington and Nicola Smith, Brussels

UNDER siege over allegations of secret CIA detention centres in Europe, Condoleezza Rice, the American secretary of state, is to go on the offensive when she meets European allies this week.
Convinced that the media, rather than Europe’s leaders, are making the biggest fuss about reports of “black sites” housing top Al-Qaeda prisoners, Rice has decided she can afford to brush off mounting criticism of America’s human rights record.

snip...

Condi expects to dazzle them with the typical line of *sh*t. The question is, will European leaders, some of whom are on shaky grounds over Iraq among their own people, suck up to this or will it simply be a raucous crowd on the streets and business as usual for European leaders?

1. To this administration, everything is
about marketing, not facts. "Facts mean nothing, it's all in the words" Market the problem properly and presto there is no problem.

3. Hardliner....
I think she is disliked more there than here. a "hardliner" she is called. I hadn't heard that term since the cold war with Russia.
