1. 'Kay...please don't confuse me with a Bush-supporter apologist, but
that's...really nasty. Many, many, many people in the Red states are passionate, imprisoned Democrats and Progressives. Also, you should take a hard look at our findings about election fraud in '04; many of your "Red" states are actually Blue. Your little map reflects a lot of ignorant, absolutist judgment about millions of people who did vote the correct way last year, not matter what the MSM and Diebold would have you believe.

4. Sigh. When are DUers going to understand this?
Just because you didn't mean to be offensive doesn't mean you weren't. Just because something is humorous to you doesn't mean it isn't going to be offensive to others. Just because--fuck it, it's like I'm throwing these posts into the abyss sometimes.

11. Bravo BlueIris
:applause:

I, too, am a blue voter in a red state. And I want most DUers to know that between 38 and 49 percent of red staters ARE blue voters. The Electoral College LIES.

and deny entry to Conunists (kidding)

This way, we don't have to go through a red state or Canada to get from PA to MI.

10. Why not try to use the COUNTY BY COUNTY listing
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 10:19 PM by happyslug
It is a lot more interesting.

Notice some of the bluest Counties are in Mississippi.

12. Wish there was one with cities on it... that's the telling thing.
See, my city is blue, but the county in which is resides is red - coupled with the less than half in the city who vote red, it turns the whole county red.

My convoluted point, here, is that the country isn't divided at the Mason-Dixon line: it's divided as rural vs. urban, and there are far fewer urban areas in the "red" states, which makes all us blue voters in red states "invisible."

14. If you look at Green County and Washington County Pa.
The counties south of Pittsburgh. Greene is right at the Southwest corner of Pennsylvania. The first map shows Washington Blue, Greene County Red, but in the Second map both are purple (Both counties were barely GOP or Democratic). That is typical of most counties.

16. Yes - the purple map is most definitely more accurate
What amazes me is that on the purple map, it's clear that the South, which is the bane of many DUers' wrath, is more blue than the mid-West, which seems to get a huge pass on this board.

I think our battleground for 2006 and 2008 should be the South. I agree with Dean's 50-state plan, but we really need to start working the South.

17. Yes, The States with the most red and reddest counties
Look to be the Panhandle of Texas, Western Oklahoma, Western Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming and Southeastern Idaho.

The rest of the counties tend to be up for grabs.

15. In regards to my own state of NC,
I wish there would be a map showing that we have a Democratic governor, Democratic Lieutenent Governor, Democratic Attorney General, and a Democratic Secretary of State. Also, the entire legislature went Democratic in the last election.

Erskin Bowles put up a good fight, but he didn't win the Senate seat; and of course, the Kerry/Edwards ticket went down in flames.

All in all, tho, I consider my state more blue than Ohio.
