The 2006 Blue Awards
Hi everybody,

I want to welcome all you activists and progressives to sign up for a spot on the 2006 Blue Awards Guild. If you aren't familiar with the Blue Awards, we pick the the top liberals in 40 different categories each year.

Go to BlueAwards.com to check it out and learn a little more.

If you are interested in being a voting member (limited to 300 members, 50 students guaranteed) please click HERE and complete the application.

If you know of anyone who you think would make a great memeber, send them our way.

Any questions, just send me an email or post them here!

Matt

1. And by the way
Someone just emailed me and asked if there was a fee to become a voting member... OF COURSE NOT! I just wanted to make that clear. We are just looking for talented and driven individuals who are qualified to help decide the winners.

Thanks again!

Matt

2. Positive affirmations
are a necessary message for our leading Democrats. Excellent idea.

I agree, and not only politicians, but volunteers, students, authors, website owners and everyone else liberal that make an impact. That's why we started the organization!

4. Another Question
Another question I just got emailed was whether potential nominees can be members of the voting Guild... Absolutely! You will not be able to vote in your category, but you will be able to participate in every other function.

We are especially looking for University students. We have one spot available for each state and are hoping to have them filled by the 1st of the year.

I strongly encourage everyone to apply!

Thanks guys!

Matt

5. WONDERFUL SITE!
What an amazing way to recognize everyone in the Party. Can't wait until registration starts!

I also applied for the Guild as a Student. I go to the University of Wisconsin.

Good luck, looking forward to hearing from you!

8. Positive affirmations are wonderful, but... why are they going to be
"made public" on election day next year? Why not a week before election day, or some other day in advance of elections, where the publicity might actually help them get elected??

It seems like a big mistake to come out with "blue awards" on the day of elections when it will be lost in the other news. Plus - to miss an opportunity for the publicity to possibly help them win election (if they are running that year)... Or maybe I'm missing something here? Are you not hoping for this to be an election boost?

Not that everyone nominated will be politicians, but some will be.

9. Hi there..
Thanks for your comments. We have been considering changing the date of announcement for the reasons you described. There are beneifts and downsides to that day, I agree.

Thanks for your input, we can really use people like you in our guild.

Thanks again!
