Then on Tuesday, Vice President Dick Cheney will be on Fort Drum. Cheney will speak during a rally for the 42nd Infantry Rainbow Division and 10th Mountain troops.

The commanding general of Fort Drum calls the visit from Cheney an honor.

Maj. Gen. Benjamin Freakley said, "Especially during this time of year when other Americans are celebrating Christmas, but our soldiers are standing guard over their flock. It's tremendous that he would take time, I mean, he's the vice president running a war and running a country, but he feels it's important enough to come here and visit with the 42nd and the 10th Mountain."

1. A question ...
"... he's the vice president running a war and running a country, but he feels it's important enough to come here and visit with the 42nd and the 10th Mountain."

Did Mr. Running-The-Country perchance bring some body armour with him to give to the troops as Christmas presents?

Just wonderin' ...

Go barefoot, Dick. It's good for the circulation.

4. Aha! The inevitable 'link' ...
... 'General FREAKLEY' and 'Frostbite Falls' -- this entire enterprise is just an old "Rocky & Bullwinkle' rerun, isn't it?

5. The general seems to have come by his name honestly. Trying
to uphold the family name and all I guess.
