3. They should be allowed to criticize the Administration and its policies
Not to disobey orders, mind you, but they should be allowed to criticize the President and his Administration. It would force the Administration to give heed to the demands of the rank and file.

I seem to remember that whenever a right wing Marine or soldier bashed Bill Clinton all of the conservative radio talk show hosts hailed them as great patriots and heroes.

These days whenever a soldier or marine criticizes the Administration they are reprimanded, demoted or court martialed. That needs to stop.

6. Well when you signup
you give away a lot of your rights and become government property. Don't find this too unusual

12. "ethically???" Therein lies the rub, to quote Hamlet.
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub:
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;

18. It's necessary to have an effective military. It's not a democracy.

7. The military isn't a democracy.
It is contrary to regulations to demean the President. We didn't have such conveniences, e-mail, satellite phones and such. There is a regulation which forbids anything "prejudicial to good order and discipline". Anything is just that, it basically says it covers anything they missed in the other regulations. They can be quite creative in applying this to those who are disliked by the command.

13. If they sign the contract they know what is expected
If they want to openly criticise the president and his policies then they better be smart about it, do it in private among family members for instance.

I agree with this policy, otherwise it would be chaotic to have the current military serving soldiers going on tv and radio arguing against their commanders. Not a good atmosphere for military discipline or winning conflicts.
