Jimmy Carter is a National Treasure
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 11:44 PM by Husb2Sparkly
This isn't an original thought or a new thought or a unique thought.

He was just on the Daily Show.

Every time I see that man, I am in awe at what a gentle soul he is. Gentle, but strong and determined.

I love that guy.

(edited title for spelling)

4. Just got in
missed it. Hope to catch the rerun. He was the best President this country has had and they torn him down politically. History will be the judge.

5. I was thinking the same thing.
Just saw the man on TDS and am still in awe.

I listen to his folksy drawl, his humble spirit, and I have to remind myself that this man wasn't just President of the United States, but a nuclear engineer. What a amazing and inspiring man. Looking forward to reading that new book of his.

I loved his comment tonight on the Daily Show about how we are seeing a 'religious and political fundamentalism like we've never seen before.'

His new book, "Endangered Values" is now number one on the non fiction list. :applause:

8. Another good comment was made by Jon
in reference to Carter about being attacked so viciously from the right even though he is from the South, a devout Christian, a veteran and arguably a conservative in many, many areas of policy.

9. Glad Jon acknowledged that
Jimmy works harder than the president !

The man has quite a legacy of goodness. Bush will be a legacy of evil.

12. My husband said the exact same thing when he saw Carter
on The Daily Show.

"He's a national treasure"

Quick question - how many kids does he have? He mentioned 11 grandkids but I didn't realize he had any other kids than Amy.

15. His son's running for the Senate from Nevada!
Jack Carter. I don't know how many other kids he has actually. Anyway, about Jack Carter, probably a longshot, but worth a shot.

13. That was a wonderful interview
He has accomplished more in the past 25 years than Dumbhead has accomplished in his entire life. His book is on my "Must Read" list.

27. Still my favorite president
I wish Reagan never happened. I wish I'd never have to hear the name Bush again. And right now the name Clinton is one I'm really gone stale on too. But Carter was always true.
