Military back drop speeches - what really happens...Cheney's speech...
Here is what these speeches are really like and about:

The politicians pull out a bunch of boot licking political people from the officer corp, who give a blowhard speech introduction sucking up to the speaker in hopes of furthering their own career.

Then, the troops that are there are made to be there and told not to do anything disrespectful. They are told when to applaud and cheer.

Then, the speaker gives a rah-rah speech saying all the right things to make them feel good, just like a high school pep rally. Hell, who in their right mind don't like to be lauded by a guest speaker, especially someone like the VP or President? It's human nature.

Then, the speaker identifies some popular soldiers or some popular events and gets the present troops' emotions involved.

But what is really astounding is how even the biggest lying turd guest speakers can get good receptions. If you doubt this, get the transcript where the officer introduced Cheney today. He thanked Cheney for his "service", his "honor" and listed all of his appointed positions. What a joke. Men of real honor do not lie or manipulate, but this asshole got a warm reception.

This man is the biggest chicken shit it makes me want to puke and scream.

1. Yah, I'd love to see just one serviceman stand up ...
... and ask "WHY DIDN'T YOU SERVE YOUR COUNTRY, MR. VICE PRESIDENT?"

... but they're probably there under threat of court martial.

4. all politics...in the television ages...
and this is what Dems must learn more about...it's all about smoke and mirrors. And I'm not saying we Dems need to be like them and lie and manipulate, but learn how to use the medium better.

5. What Do You Expect
This is a society steeped in the crafted deception of "marketing." Honesty left the American pantheon of values long ago, to be replaced by "Truth ver 2.0", focus grouped, feel-good, market tested bullshit spewed before the soft drape of color-coded propaganda.

Slavery is Freedom
War is Peace

Eat it up proles.
