The Treasonous Howard Dean

The backlash to Deans' remarks concerning whether or not the US can win the "war" in Iraq is typical. It is the same reaction to any form of dissent pertaining to this conflict: "You are undermining the troops." Or, "Your protests are causing serious morale problems for the troops."

I beg your pardon?! Excuse me?!

Our armed forces is volunteered based. This was purposely done so as to inoculate members from societal/civilian influences. A draftee based armed forces would be more likely affected by what is going on in civilian society. Therefore, if the volunteer troops are adversely impacted by our voices then I would say that there is a larger problem. Perhaps this a problem of training. The troops are supposed to take and follow orders. If their performance is being affected by us then they really do not buy into the bullshit being fed to them.

Dean is being patriotic and showing his support for our troops in harms way :patriot:
