Jack Burkman says "They" have to train Chimpy to be a better speaker.

On Coast to Coast, there was a discussion with Burkman and Craig Crawford about the constant appearances of Chimp and Cheney with troops, but not with civilian citizens.

Crawford pointed out that they're trying to convince people that only the "folks in Washington" disagree with them on the war; in fact, most ordinary citizens disagree with them, so they can't make such appearances.

Burkman suggested Chimpy needs to address people directly, in primetime, from the oval office. Ron Reagan said that doesn't work for him; he doesn't come off well in that setting. Burkman said, "Then they need to train him to be a better speaker," or some such!!

I guess "THEY" never thought of that!!! No doubt they've tried, Jack, but the best they can do is give him written scripts and hope he reads them without too much difficulty. :rofl:

But that damn breathing apparatus and the black mask just makes him seem evil. Substitute the "snarl" and the "look of pale death" for Darth Cheney. No amount of PR training is going to help when the subject is 100% pure evil. When you put too much lipstick on a pig, the pig tends to resemble a crack whore.

For a month or two back in '01 or '02 he actually was pronouncing "nuclear" correctly. Then he went back to the old way.

I think there were a couple things going on -- first, the "teaching a pig to sing" thing, I think the fancy speechifyin' lessons made for a very annoyed pig; second, and perhaps more to the point, is that much of his appeal to mouthbreathers comes from his anti-intellectual as-stupid-as-them persona. There simply wasn't going to be much to gain politically from giving him some polish...

He has been using the same canned speech written by Karen Hughes who needs help herself in the speaking department. He didn't learn to speak on Babs knee, he didn't learn to speak as an officer in TANG, he didn't learn to speak as an oil barron, he didn't learn to speak as a Gov and he sure hasn't learned to speak in his 5-years as POTUS.

The old saying of, Send the kid to school to learn and all he does is eat the Paste, sure fits Georgie.
