Star Spangled Banner should never be played again IF....
Flag Desecration is criminalized

Because of the words in the Star Spangled Banner

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

8. What was happening when Francis Scott Key came up with the words?
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave

Those words should say to every American that no matter what happens our flag will always be there as well as our spirit. Or something along that line.

9. Um... I don't get it...
Call me a :dunce: (I probably deserve it), but I think those lines, taken in context with the line before and after them, simply recall the night at Fort McHenry when the flag was visible at night because of all the explosions, and then plaintively ask whether that flag still stands over a land where people are free and brave. I don't get a flag-burning reference out of it.

But like I said, I ain't the smartest cookie in the bunch.

5. We're not the land of the free and we sure as hell are not the home of the
brave.

Not with our cowardly populace bending over their rights in favor of *cough* "security", just so they can trample over each other to get that new $400 laptop at mallwart...

fuckin' SICK.

6. Who's trying to stop flag desecration? The bill that Hillary is
co-sponsoring is to make it a federal offence to use of flag-burning to knowingly incite violence, and also to ban burning other people's flags.

It's stil perfectly to burn the flag in protest, just so long as it is a peaceful protest.
