Bush quote on Iraq in 2004: "I DON'T THINK YOU CAN WIN IT"
Just received this information via email. I believe its from Dailykos.com.

Regarding Gov Dean's statements that we cannot win in
Iraq, none other than President Bush himself said
virtually the same last year before the election while
talking about conservatives' War on Terror.

Remember that August 31, 2004 NBC Today Show interview
between Bush and Matt Lauer?

"I don't think you can win it," Mr. Bush replied. "But
I think you can create conditions so that those who
use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of
the world."

2. Good find!
Boy, nobody loves a loser. Don'tcha just hate those pessimists who are always demoralizing our troops by saying "we can't win"?

4. Here's how they will spin this....
Bush will say he was talking about the "war on terrorism" not the "war in Iraq." And that there will always be acts of terrorism but darn it, we have liberated a people!!!

Damn internets!!

6. He wasn't talking about Iraq alone -
he was talking about the "War on Terror."

And he's right. And so is Dean.

Bush is right because you can't win a war against a noun.

Dean is right because no one can define what "victory" is in Iraq - and conventional victory is unachievable.
