How long will it take to clean up the Republican mess ?
Yes, I am aware that Repubs do not think they have a "mess". They think they have a better economy than the one that Clinton governed over. They think we will win the war in Iraq and they will have a democracy in the Middle East. They think it is worth the gamble, no matter how many lives are lost. They think the deficits don't really matter - Ronald Reagan proved it - as the VP has said. They think this is the best and most stable military we have ever had. If not, we will pay them a salary they cannot refuse. They think they can cut billions more off the socialist trough and no one will really suffer, and it doesn't really matter if they do suffer, they have to experience some pain to get off the government teat. They don't really care about our reputation around the world. Witness John Bolton at the UN. There's gonna be a heckuva mess to clean up, in my opinion.

1. Bill Clinton did it, but with the mess that W is leaving it could take
a very long time.

3. And they will fight tooth and Nail
at every turn, too. Anything to make it hard for liberals to fix problems they created.

4. Assuming we can take the house and/or senate,
if the Dems do not revoke some of the total shit legislation that has passed in the last 5 years, especially, that mother of all pieces of shit the patriot act, America may never recover. Regardless, the younger generations are stuck with one hell of a bill for the party boosh & his rich friends have had.

7. That's where many Democrats are mistaken...
They're not going to be able to "revoke" any of the shit legislation, especially the massive taxcuts. The Republicans will use the filibuster to prevent that . Bet the farm.

6. I don't believe we can EVER clean it up.
If we had enjoyed intelligent leadership, we might have been ready to adapt to global warming, peak oil, and some other little problems that are at hand. We squandered that time. And now, we will pay the price for our mistakes.

Sorta like evolution - if one flunks Mr. Darwin's test, one doesn't get to go to the next round.

8. Remember the "infinite horizon" that the social security "crisis" was
constructed on?

Longer than that.
