16. Was that sarcasm or are you serious?
I guess you may not have heard it as much as I have since I am very involved in the investment industry and often times the small bounce after a sell-off is called a "dead cat bounce".

20. it is indeed very typical of wall street's sense of humor
i have to admit it's just an expression to me now. it wasn't until i saw the "lol" response that i was reminded of the gruesome feline vision that originated the expression.

28. I was being serious, not sarcastic
That is the first time I remember seeing the phrase. And I normally hate "dead cat" jokes. I just started getting involved in investments, so maybe I'll see it more often from here on out - hopefully not in regard to my investments, ha ha.

7. A few point movement doesn't mean a trend. His numbers
have always bounced around some. He's been on a steady decline for several months.

18. dead cat bounce indeed . . . and even if it weren't, you can be sure . . .
that Bush will screw something else up real soon (it's genetic) and send the numbers tumbling . . .

2. Somebody put the arm on them. Why would he go up?
Are people suddenly changing their minds that Iraq is a total disaster and Bush is to blame. Lets call this one an outlier.

Thanks for the update.

10. gas prices aren't as bad--and some sheeple are concerned
only with their own immediate situations and not (a) what the real factors affecting their situations are nor (b) what is in the best interests of the nation as a whole and (c) what is fair and right.

Front page of MSNBC.com: "RATINGS BOOST". From what, terrible, to still terrible and within the margin of error from last week?

17. Didn't poll Louisiana or Mississippi residents
Because of the "difficulties" contacting people because of Katrina.

Riiiggghhhtttt...

One wonders how skewed the poll would have been if they had some LA or MS representation.

19. Huh is right
MSN trotted out this same tired story written a different way a few weeks ago. Even the poll number of 42% was the same. It was slanted the same way. Only difference was that the spin doctors were saying that Bush had "bottomed out" and could only go up from there.

About two days later other polls were released that showed his numbers in the low 30 percentile. The story sank like a stone. If you read this version very carefully they keep saying "men," "white," "Catholic which are groups considered to be Bush's strongest supporters. They don't say anything about women, non-whites or other religions.

If you look toward the end of the article you see one of the analysts of the data is Peter Fever, the same man who wrote that Iraq speech for bush and the economy speech. The fevered Peter said at the time Bush made those speeches that saying that there was a solution to problems would make them more acceptable to the public. No. They won't. This poll is about as unbiased as a Faux news poll.

I want to see a real poll from a real pollster with a license. This is so slanted and the slant is so obvious that I had to lean to the right to read it. Tell me that the public is "optimistic" about the economy right after Ford announced that they are moving 8 plants out of the US instead of 4 and taking all of those jobs with them. Tell me again after people start getting those first huge heating bills from those uncharacteristically cold storms sweeping the country back east. They can just bite me. Once again.

21. Very dumb front page news. If you consider the margin of error
in the poll, he's probably the same as he was last time. You want to see movement in the poll? Wait til K-K-K-Karl gets his indictment. Elevator going D-O-W-N.

22. The minibrains are starting to forget about Katrina and high gas.
The whole world watching Bushco's glaring imcompetence/malice on display during the Katrina mess took a big toll. How soon they forget.

Are the oil companies repaying MonkeyBoy for all his favors by lowering gas prices?

23. Maybe because of Christmas.
Bush being aligned with "God" is so deeply seated in fundie "patriotic" minds, that around Christmas they can't bring themselves to question to the chimp.

If the polls are accurate, that is. What's the margin of error again? ;)

Guess who dictates to MS NBC, CNN, and FAX? Guess why you never see Phil Donahue, or Billy Moyers or Howard Zinn hanging with these whores? Anyone of these guys can out draw all three networks combined on their best day.

Want us to have happy memories of our government when we are all around the CHRISTmas tree.
