I am so proud of my college freshman Democrat....

daughter! She is flying to Washington D.C. on January 1 with two other Young Democrats (she's going to major in political science) and lobby Senators to vote against Alito!

Wish her luck!!

1. I hope she has fun and learns a lot

and gets to tour the city. I went there when I was in seventh grade and did some touring (it was for a band competition) and it wasn't too bad. Back than I didn't care for history or politics so I would like to go back there someday.

3. We now live in GA,

and she goes to school here, but we used to live on the Chesapeake Bay just about an hour north of Williamsburg and about an hour and a half from D.C. I took her there when she was in middle-school--Who knows, maybe she will be working there someday...elected! A dad can dream, and if I do say so myself, she's pretty sharp! Of course I'm a little bit biased. :)
