I saw a Hillary bumper sticker today.
The car also had a "Bill Richardson for Governor" bumper sticker (I'm in NM) from the last election.

DLC. It figures. aaargh :banghead:

Where are people getting these Hillary stickers?!? They need to STOP.

12. A quick search turned up a bunch:

(reads "H instead of W")

I think people should put any bumper sticker they want for their favorite candidate, whether it be Hillary Clinton, Wes Clark or whomever.

I don't get this "they should stop" business

16. In my frustration I did not clarify
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 06:08 PM by DesertedRose
Of COURSE people can put whatever bumper stickers they want on their cars.

What's frustrating to me is that because I'm a democrat, people assume I'm going to blindly throw my weight behind Hillary, and that ain't ever gonna happen.

I am frustrated with the media spin machine making it sound as though the democratic masses fully support Hillary (and that there is no one else out there).

I guess THAT is what I want to see stop. And I'm hoping there are "average" democrats that are well informed on her positions, and not just slapping a sticker on their car because they are reacting to the spin machine and echo chamber.

Republicans would want nothing more than to see Hillary win the nomination. For that reason alone I don't support her (though there are more reasons).

Hope that clarifies things. I want to see alternative candidates out there more in force.

Not only that, Richardson is DLC and he has NOT been the best thing for New Mexico. That's also part of my frustration.

17. So rather than promote any alternate candidates
you want to bitch about those who have a preference.

And I sure see lots of "media spin" promoting Clark, or Warner, and even Biden....and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Of course, saying "Anybody but Hillary" may mean you'll have some republicans buying it too! So maybe you should rephrase that....

21. I see it in my home
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 06:29 PM by DesertedRose
I've mentioned before that my husband's republican. He assumes that I'm going to support Hillary and is shocked (and probably disappointed) when I tell him no.

My family of origin is democratic. THEY assume the same thing, and I've had to tell them no.

It's not the people exercising their choice that was frustrating to me.

What frustrates me is wondering if the saturation in the media is where these people closest to me are getting the idea that if they are seeing all this support for this particular candidate, then I must be supporting her too (by default) when I'm not.

It's FRUSTRATION. A rant. I hate seeing what the DLC has done to my state, and seeing people continuing to support DLC candidates in spite of it all frustrates me. Do they have that right? Sure. It still frustrates me because I think we can do better than that.

Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 10:10 PM by FreedomAngel82
DUH! Look at Mark Warner: he is DLC but did some great things in Virginia. You should look at the individual person and what they've done. Hillary isn't my choice because she personally is too rightwing and I want someone who I know can clean up the mess from Bush and the neocons. I don't think Hillary has anything new to offer me.

27. Repugs hate her. She's such an easy target. I like her, but I don't
love her. THey love to hate her. I want to support someone I can truly admire. She's not it, yet.I see them push her up there because they know she is easy to attack and easy to sway. How many times has she sided without question with BushCo.? Her back ground is Republican and I'm afraid her heart has never left.Although she has shown a concern for women and children, she has not shown the vision of Obama or the stubborn
truths of Dean. I say the best leader will emerge if we look for the one who speaks to us here @DU.

35. Me not supporting Hillary isn't because she's DLC
It's her personal record. I look at individual records and their actions and deeds. For example Kerry is pretty progressive compared to other DLCers and Warner did a lot of good in Virginia. You shouldn't write someone off because they associate with a certain group. They might agree o some issues and want to work together on those issues.
