Honoring a Half Century of Service

Washington, DC - Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean
today issued the following statement on Rep. John Dingell's 50th
Anniversary as a member of Congress:

"Today, I join Democrats across the country in congratulating
Congressman Dingell for his 50 years of service in the House of
Representatives. For half a century, Congressman Dingell has been a
dedicated public servant, devoted to improving the lives of his
constituents. A fierce defender of Congress' vital oversight role and an
indefatigable champion of America's working families, Congressman
Dingell has left an indelible mark on our society. His is a legacy that
has made the people of Michigan and all Americans proud."

Didn't know he'd been around that long. Is there a list somewhere listing Congresscritters by seniority? I'd be curious to see that.

3. now here is a Democrat who is a genuine all around progressive
and I mean on issues most would shy away from and he is the longest serving member of the U.S. Congress

this is just on foreign policy -- his domestic policy is equally progressive
