Bush said it is his job to build Democracies ...
all over the world. When did this come into the job description for u.s. president. He also said it is our job to help and stand behind him. If this were the job of the president to build democracies,he is the wrong man for the job.

He dosen't know a damn thing about most countries, and when he's making a speech he is he reminds me of someone who is fussing, nagging, angry, dictatorial and demanding that we better believe him.

5. No nation building huh?
Q: Why not Africa? Why the Middle East? Why the Balkans but not Africa?

BUSH: Africa’s important. And we’ve got to do a lot of work in Africa to promote democracy and trade. It’s an important continent. But there’s got to be priorities. And the Middle East is a priority for a lot of reasons as is Europe and the Far East, and our own hemisphere. Those are my four top priorities should I be the president. It’s not to say we won’t be engaged , and working hard to get other nations to come together to prevent atrocity . I thought the best example of handling a situation was East Timor when we provided logistical support to the Australians; support that only we can provide. I thought that was a good model. But we can’t be all things to all people in the world. I am worried about over-committing our military around the world. I want to be judicious in its use. I don’t think nation-building missions are worthwhile.

6. If he wants to build a democracy
he should start in his own country. He's done more to destroy the democratic fabric of this country than any president in history. Of course, then we have to remember, God tells him what to do.

7. US military is not to be used to nation build
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 03:22 PM by Rambis
I don't think we can be all things to all people in the world. I think we've got to be very careful when we commit our troops. The vice president and I have a disagreement about the use of troops. He believes in nation building. I would be very careful about using our troops as nation builders. I believe the role of the military is to fight and win war and therefore prevent war from happening in the first place. So I would take my responsibility seriously. And it starts with making sure we rebuild our military power. Morale in today's military is too low. We're having trouble meeting recruiting goals. We met the goals this year, but in the previous years we have not met recruiting goals. Some of our troops are not well-equipped. I believe we're overextended in too many places. And therefore I want to rebuild the military power. It starts with a billion dollar pay raise for the men and women who wear the uniform. A billion dollars more than the president recently signed into law. It's to make sure our troops are well-housed and well-equipped. Bonus plans to keep some of our high-skilled folks in the services and a commander in chief that sets the mission to fight and win war and prevent war from happening in the first place.

14. Notice how when all the investigations started they started...
trying to find something on Clinton. I saw that Weldon guy on Lou Dobbs the other night blame the 911 commission for not investigating Able danger, and he is steadily digging up someone to blame Clinton.

Look for some phoney info on clinton in the future along with that Lewis Freed ( i believe thats his name ) the former head of Fbi i think or Cia. He has been plugging his book on all of these talk shows trying to blame clinton for everything. Answer this question: who was the president when 911 happened? I'm surprised they aren't trying to blame the mess of Katrina on Clinton.

...and there's nothing about building democracies in other parts of the world.

Besides, Bushco has no interest in "Democracies" other than that term's PR value. Same with "Freedom, Values, Liberty, etc"

Rather what Bush is interested in is plunder, control and Corporate Hegemony for the financial benefit of the wealthy few. All else is marketing.

16. What I see is, Bush wants to go down in history...
as a great president. Bush has been reading books on Lincoln and other presidents' and he trying to pattern himself after them. He believes the history books will write that he changed the world for the better. If the repugs get their way they will. Bush believes if he reads a speech everyone will believe the phoney words, just like karen hughes thinks because she goes over to other countries and tries to put her values on their women, they will accept them. As a matter of fact this is where he is getting these ideas from and Condi.
