Iraqi elections...okay...fine...
...but isn't this just the glossy surface?

So much hype about these elections but isn't the real issue not being talked about...
THE OIL FIELDS!!!

I absolutely do not believe the USA would ever leave until they are militarily secured for the USA's interest.

Maybe news reporters should start focusing in on asking who or what "interest" are going to run the oil fields.
Will the oil revenue benefit the Iraqi people and how?

Elections are good but I think they are over hyped.
We need to "follow the money" because there we will find what motivates the USA staying in Iraq.
And the money is oil.

Where are the questions, from the media, regarding the oil fields and who controls them?
That is the pertinent question in my view.
That is what controls our "policy" over there, to a far greater degree than "democracy", now isn't it?

1. I'm a simple kind of person
but I don't think it is over over there until folks stop blowing themselves up in the street.

But maybe that's just me, I don't know.

2. The real question is "Was it worth it?"
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 08:30 AM by RobertSeattle
2000+ US dead, tens of thousands of Iraqi's dead, 500 Billion+ in costs, lost allies and credibility, torture, etc

The Bush Lovers are ecstatic today - they'll settle down when reality hits.

3. This shit is not over by a long shot. These elections are really only
the beginning of what we will see. And we won't like much of it.

4. Iraqi oil is not "Nationalized"?
Didn't Perle, Bremmer, etc... write the Constitution up in such a way as to forbid Nationalization of Iraqi oil?
If so then this doesn't bode well for the citizens does it?

7. Iraqi Oil was Corporatized via Halliburton
It was, and is, the only goal in this war. Everything else....Saddam, democracy, WMDs, Terrah!!!!!...is window dressing, charade.

5. ERECTIONS, not EleCtioNs - Joe Biden purple fingered geek
But Shred... Look at all the purple fingers.... Doesn't that warm the cold recesses of your iron clad heart?

For some reason the NEOCON retards think that the elections actually mean democracy... Kind of like the people of Florida and Ohio felt when they tried to vote...

We are a nation of boneheaded morons who are so isolated from the reality of the rest of the world that it makes my brain hurt.

But once again Shred, I cried with joy when Joe Biden held his fuckin' purple finger in the air 'cause I know now that we are safe from the bastards that we are trying to liberate.
Go here to make yourself wretch: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/12/15.html#a6330

p.s. heard you on the radio yesterday or the day before... Good Job buddy.

6. The risk Bush is taking by making a big deal about these elections is...
...that when the U.S. casualty rate keeps climbing by 70-100 KIA per month, over the next few months, Bushco will be big time toast.

The elections will not effect the insurgency. Any government will be seen as a U.S. puppet government.
