In Georgia we are DOOMED! If you want to see the future, read this!
I just found this at a very small website called Count the Vote .org <http://www.countthevote.org/index.htm>

If you ever wondered why we Georgia DU members are sounding so depressed about the future, what is written on the Count the Vote .org home page sums it up well. I'm not sure how old this is, I just wrote to the website to find out and to invite them to join us here at DU:

Since the Georgia Democratic party is refusing to get behind any candidate for Secretary of State (they're concentrating all funds and support on the Governor's race - Cathy Cox) Bill Stephens (the republican candidate for SoS) is a given. Georgia will have our own version of Katherine Harris and Kenneth Blackwell because the DEM party will hand him the office.

The current DEM SoS candidates can't even get party help with fundraising.

In the case of Bill Stephens, one should take great care to understand that this should be a "personal" issue with the Democrats.

You see, Bill Stephens was a Democrat elected in 2002 who switched parties 3 days after being elected with Democratic party funds to give the new governor a majority in the state Senate. For that move, Stephens was given the most powerful spot in the state Senate - Majority Leader. You'd think, after Zell Miller, the DEM party would at least TRY to punish some of these DEMS.............

Now, he's being further rewarded with a more powerful spot in state politics - control of the voting machines.

Another very interesting article about our struggle with Diebold and it's many Georgia Government shills is at this link:

5. That's pretty disgusting. isn't Cathy Cox the poster child for Diehbold?
Seems to me she featured prominently in getting Diebold installed everywhere because she was first and went around the country yakking it up. Right?

If so, she's not an appropriate person to be running for Gov. at all.

Where's Dean on this? Wasn't he pushing for us to fight the voting machines by getting good SoS's voted in? (Of course, with the voting machines, that's easier said than done.)

6. Yup, Meet Cathy Diebold all right
And the worst part is, since she controls the voting machines, how can she lose in the primary against the Lt. Governor?

And then, who will Diebold pick to be our next Governor? The Governor they picked last election, or the SoS that handed them that big contract for Voting machines?

Not good.:evilfrown:

7. Georgia was lost the day diebold eliminated Max Cleland
Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 12:31 AM by gulfcoastliberal
We can write off that state. Mississippi is 100% diebold. Write them off. Florida, well that was the tipping point. Forget Ohio, home of diebold. Alabama is probably a write-off, too. So is Texas.

The Republic is dead. Democracy dieds in 2000 and the corpse is bloating and putrid. Those capable of emigrating to another country should do it. Unless you plan on taking to the streets - cause the ballot "black" boxes won't mean a damn thing, unless something changes drastically. I do hope I'm ust being too cynical, but right now I'm glad I'm young, childless and mobile. Things are going from bad to worse ar an alarming rate. Not sure the dems can or will do anything to reverse course, even if they can overcome the fraud machines.

The fact they're running Cox is bad news. Bill Richardson of NM prevented recounts and refuses to believe in election fraud. Depressing times.

8. Here's the reply from Count The Vote. org
I asked her when she posted this and invited here to join us here at DU:

I posted that shortly before I went to Washington, DC
for the September 24th march.

I know about DU but find it too wrapped up in internal
fighting to be of any use on this issue. Thanks for
the invite, though.

Feel free to link and refer. More helpfully, feel
free to join us in our fight at the state house for
legislation to stop these insidious machines! And
bring as many Georgians as you can.

"...too wrapped up in internal fighting..."??? I'm more into nit picking.
Internal fighting?
God how I love the name Roxanne.
