What we have to get past to win the WH
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 05:38 PM by SunDrop23
I was listening to two people discuss the quagmire in Iraq today and here's an excerpt.

Person A:
"...Oh no, you are not part of that Bush Lied crowd are you? I don't care if we didn't find any weapons of mass destruction. Saddam had them at one time and he was a bad man."

Person B:
"But there was a better way to deal with him. He was contained. The problem was and still is bin Laden and Al Qaeda. We should be going after him instead of all the chaos we have in Iraq."

Person A:
"What chaos? What are you talking about?"

1. My new rule...
I will partake, or listen, to no debate on Iraq that does not contain the word OIL.

2. I hate to say it, but that comment does not surprise me. The media
has done a great job hiding the problems in Iraq from the American people. Also, unless someone has a loved one fighting over there, they don't even give Iraq a second thought.

We don't see the coffins coming back, we don't see the fighting on tv, the newscasters don't tell the public how many soldiers have been killed...to average Joe 'Merkan everything is going smooth over there. It must be true -- Bush said so.

3. I'm looking forward to Tom Brokaw's report
He went to Iraq with some reservists from upstate NY and followed them after they came home and in recent interviews, he's mentioned how these guys are having difficulty fitting back in because, despite what they've been through, this country remains unchanged -- going on with our lives as if nothing is wrong and there's not a war going on. We need to be hearing more stories about what this war has done to our soldiers -- how their lives have been permanently changed -- because only then can people decide whether this mess has been worth it. Victory -- but at what cost to us as a people?

4. Brokaw
If his interview with Tweety today is a precursor, ole Tom will be singing Bushie's praises. Don't expect any revelations on his show tonight.

6. That's what I'm afraid of.
WTF?? Isn't there a reporter in the MSM who will tell the truth about Iraq??
