Trent Lott: "I want to keep it dangling out there to keep everyone uneasy"
Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) said today that he plans to run for a leadership post next year, explaining that he has his sights set on the top job: majority leader.

---SNIP---

Lott also said that he would not run for the majority whip's position, for which Senate Republican Conference Chairman Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) is expected to run. Santorum is trailing by double digits in recent polls to his likely challenger, Pennsylvania state treasurer Bob Casey, Jr.

But Lott said he will not entertain the possibility of Santorum losing. "I expect and I want Rick to get re-elected," said Lott. "I wouldn't oppose Rick."

"I want to keep it dangling out there to keep everyone uneasy," Lott said of his plans to run for leadership should he not retire.

it'll be tough for him to be *majority* anything next year...

9. Is Lott's hair woven from Frist's dead cats?
Looks funny, like animal fur. And why no calico colors?
