3. everything else pales in comparison....
....clearest evidence of this country's slide toward a police state yet.
....sumbitch really DOES think he's not bound by the Constitution.
....illegal spying? One would think that would be an impeachable offense.
.....they must be in full panic tonight at 1600 Pennsylvania. Good. Taste it, you fuckers.

6. But will there be any public outrage? No.
And it is all thanks to the superparser Yoo. Bush as Commander in Chief is not acting in a role limited by laws about the president

8. Bush pissed off the corporatists who once supported him, that's my hunch
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 07:58 PM by Selatius
The corporatists of today are far more subtle than the ones defeated 60 years ago with the fall of fascism. They learned their lessons from that era well. They want to be silent and slow in their pursuit of more power and consolidation, but that cannot be done if we have people like Bush breaking and smashing everything. It provokes reactions from the proletariat, and they need to be anesthetized, not agitated, in their minds. Therefore, Bush should be sacrificed for someone far more subtle and effective.

9. Makes me worry about them trying a literal power grab
as the cookie of public approval crumbles. I don't think that these people are going to leave easily, but I'd love to turn out to be wrong. Pondering such things aloud might make a positive difference.
