"Specter Says Senate to Probe Report U.S. Broke Law on Spying

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Senator Arlen Specter said the Judiciary Committee he chairs will investigate a report that President George W. Bush authorized spying on American citizens and foreign nationals in the U.S. following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

``That's wrong, clearly and categorically wrong,'' Specter, a Pennsylvania Republican, said today on the Senate floor. ``This will be a matter for oversight by the Judiciary committee as soon as we can get to it in the new year -- a very, very high priority item.''

1. We must keep the pressure on
for them to do something, and not just SAY they are doing something.

2. Specter no longer cares who he pisses off.
He is staring mortality in the face and wants to leave a good legacy. Go for it, Arlen!

7. If they talked less and acted more we'd get more done
If Congress spent less time blabbering their traps off and spent more time acting on these imperative issues that are taking away our civil liberties or civil rights for that matter. Which in my opinion Congress will never straighten up and fly right because they're spending too much time taking away our jobs and President Bush has this stupid war in Iraq that he contends with every day like "yup, yup, yup it's another day to make a speech of victory at the podium" :). And now what's worse they're spying on us which is literally taking away the privacy of everything we hold dear to us. I'm grateful i can even go in my bedroom and masturbate without people looking through my window at me saying "are you a terrorist?" and i'm like "HELL NO GET AWAY FROM MY WINDOW",lmao. So anyways i just thought i'd ramble about how much this country sucks and how the Democrats need to get a handle on the situation before it falls to complete shit again. So anyways i'll let you go. I hope to hear from you soon, good luck in all you do.

8. TALON reports
Talon stands for "threat and local observation notice"

(Not for nothing but remember that Jeff Gannon/Guckert worked for Talon Media. Funny, no?)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/10/AR2005121000893_pf.html
The Talon reports, as they are called, are based on information from civilians and military personnel who stumble across people or information they think might be part of a terrorist plot or threat against defense facilities at home or abroad.
snip
The Pentagon's emphasis on domestic intelligence has raised concerns among some civil liberties advocates and intelligence officials. For some of them, the Talon system carries echoes of the 1960s, when the Pentagon collected information about anti-Vietnam War groups and peace activists that led to congressional hearings in the 1970s and limits on the types of information the Defense Department could gather and retain about U.S. citizens.

Stumble across? O brother.:eyes:

9. Seems like fire on W's ladder is rising and he has no where to jump to.
Who, who is not stuck on the burning ladder, will throw themselves in front of the bus to spare W's reputation and presidency?

Condi? Hughes? Big momma? Daddy? Jeb the Hillbillie?

Please somebody play the Beverly Hillbillies end of show lyrics:

"Well now its time to say good-bye to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You’re all invited back again to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality

Hillbilly that is. Set a spell. Take your shoes off. Y'all come back now, y'hear?"

10. Was that really how it went?
Was that really how the end of the Beverly HillBillies song went? It has been so long since i last watched that show, i used to watch it when i was a kid when i was growing up and they had it in black and white picture. But you know President Bush hasn't done a damn worth of good for this country and for all i care he can go suck a lemon. He spends more time ruining this country and the world than he does improving it. I bet every stupid republican out there who voted for him had such high hopes for him, and they expected that he was going to work wonders for the world. But now that everything has gone to complete shit, i bet they're scratching their heads and thinking "where has the time gone? For christs sake we're 100% more poorer now than we were 3 or 4 years ago. I mean can't anybody out there realize just how much of an impact this man has had on this country and on the lives of millions of not just American people but people world wide? I mean he has literally torn the world apart. It's something that literally distracts you from your daily living routine, and you have to wonder for yourself. How much longer do we have to keep up with all of this crap? How much longer do we have before he's finally out of office and we can give him the boot and just tell him "HIT THE ROAD JACK YOU'RE NOT WANTED ANYMORE." I just wish i could tell him that right now but unfortunately he still has about another 2 years in office to go. So anyways that's all i can think of for now on that issue. Feel free to drop me a line. I hope to hear from you soon, good luck in all you do.
