Celebrity / political endorsements for democratic nominees
I read the thread about Clooney's endosement of Obama, and it got me thinkin'.
Who endorsed our 2004 democratic nominees? I think Michael Moore, Bill Clinton and Madonna endorsed Clark. Anyone remember other endorsements? I can't remember who Gore endorsed, I know it wasn't Joementum though.

FWIW, it seems to me that those kinds of endorsements don't carry much weight at all.

2. Gore endorsed Dean and it was a big deal
since he didn't endorse Lieberman. That's the only one I can remember.

3. I don't think Bill Clinton endorsed anyone, Gore endorsed Dean
Tom Harkin endorsed Dean, Kerry had Peter, Paul and Mary (or some subset at some Iowa locations. The endorsement that probably carried the most weight in Iowa was not from a celebrity or a politician, but from a retired Oregon policeman, who was a life long Republican who emotionally endorsed John Kerry, who had saved his life in Vietnam.

4. Endorsements are relatively meaningless. People are hurt by endorsements
in for more instances than they are helped.

A Michael Moore endorsement costs you more votes than it gets you.

5. I agree. I thought the Madonna one
was really bizarre. I can't even imagine one person saying to themselves, "well Madonna likes Clark so maybe I should too."
