Special "Tom Brokaw Reports: To War And Back" -precedes Bush Sunday
Now there will be a hell of a lead-in for Bush's ass-saving attempt.
Browkaw was on the Daily Show earlier this week with a preview.
It's about an Army Reserve (maybe Natn'l Guard) unit from the time they ship out till they come home from Iraq.
It looks like it's a heart-breaker.
Good.
Let's have an hour of clarity before Bush fogs and befouls the airwaves....

1. Brokaw?
You have higher expectations of him than I do.

Didn't he kind of romanticize war in The Greatest Generation? Sorry, I can't put my hands on my copy right now, or I'd point out what I'm thinking about here.

2. I know of the book and the way of thinking of war..
....
It seemed, but was not made explicit, that Brokaw has a much different outlook on this war. In any case I think it will provide a stark image of what this war is like as opposed to the bullshit Bush will spew immediately thereafter.

3. Ha, ha!! Someone didn't check the teevee
listings! "Laura, Karl! That Brokaw man is going to show the truth and make me look bad."

Unless there is some ulterior motive, but I cannot imagine how showing guys from the Reserves, back from Iraq, and all suffering from PTSD according to Brokaw, is helpful to Bush.

4. Brokow show the truth?
Bet not. He's been employed by GE for too many years. I've personally have
lost trust in him years ago. He's just another millionaire who know where his
bread is buttered. He and his band of journalistic buddies are all the same.

5. I think it will be good - its about common soldiers
Its about time the war was brought home to people who don't have loved ones fighting and dying over there.
