Take 'em down from the inside out!
I was laying in bed last night, watching TV and letting my mind wander. Although the antics of Carlton and Will were entertaining, I was thinking more about politics. I found myself wondering exactly how the neocons and their neo-Wilsonian world hegemonic ideas had managed to come to lead a party that is supposed to stand for "less government."

I remembered reading something about the Trotsky-ite tactics they employed; like a parasite, they infiltrated the party and eventually came to control it. With the sophisticated propaganda machine they have, I wondered exactly how we could beat them and their horrible candidates.

Suddenly, I had an idea, and although its crazy, I thought it made some sense. What would happen if everyone of us decided to switch our party registration from Democrat to Republican? We could still vote D, but we would also be allowed to vote in all of their primaries, and that would make every single one like a real race.

I'm sure that would never work, but it struck me that, perhaps, the best way to beat them is to invade their party and bring down their candidates from the inside! }(

1. But then we couldn't vote in the Dem primaries....
Other than that, I can't see anything wrong with your deliciously devious scheme.

BTW, welcome to DU :hi: You're going to fit right in!

2. Here was my thought --

If we had enough numbers to actually do this, any Dem would be forced to be true to the stated ideals of the party. If the Reps were running a decent candidate (because we forced them to, LOL), then the Dems would have to be decent, too. Otherwise, we could just vote for the Rep (as dirty as that makes me feel). It would teach Dems to stop taking us for granted!

4. Damn, you're making more and more sense....
Other than we'd have to do it in big numbers, it sounds solid.

Let me think about it some more before we run it by Howard Dean. :headbang:
