Sen. Clinton to Vice President Cheney: Go to Iraq

http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Hillary_to_Vice_President_Cheney_Go_1217.html

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) offered Vice President Dick Cheney a little unsolicited advice yesterday: go take a firsthand look at what's going on in Iraq, the New York Post reported Saturday (registration-restricted).

Clinton's surprising suggestion came moments before a top-level war briefing at the White House, a source involved with the meeting told The Post.

Clinton, who has been to Iraq twice and has been sharply critical of the administration's handling of the war, told Cheney it would be a positive experience to see the troops and terrain for himself, the source added. Cheney, who has not been there since before the war, looked at Clinton but didn't respond to her remark, the source said.

Hours later, Cheney announced a trip next week to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Egypt and Saudi Arabia — opening the door for a stealth visit to Iraq.

7. Interesting theory
And perhaps not a bad one either. Saying, "yeah, I know people who know things too." Interesting. Welcome to DU by the way. :toast:

What's this about ash trays?

15. If you come here to trash Senator Clinton, provide a cite or STFU.
The same goes for any other Democrat politician you want to slime.

23. She said "supposedly." Geesch.
I know that a ton of gossip rags reported that Hillary was known for this and I believe some of the Arkansas Troopers said the same.

Now, in as far as you want to trust a gossip rag or the Arkansas troopers - that's your decision, but the fact remains that the rumor about Hillary throwing ashtrays and the like at Bill has been out there for years.

I don't think the new DUer was sliming Hillary - just reporting what the gossip was.

:hi: Stymie and welcome to DU.

31. Divernan, thank you for that
Sometimes it seems I've signed onto a freeper website here. I love DEMOCRATICUNDERGROUND so much, and it can be so imformative. It seems the wrong thing to do to run down one's own party. We've just got to save our country from Bush before he takes us it down with him. Please don't take offense at this message, as I know how frustrated all of us are with our leaders; sometimes it seems like a terrible nightmare. :hi: :hi: :hi: :dem:

21. This is too funny. . .
Let's not deny that the Big Dawg and the Senator from NY have had their issues, they are human, and considering what we all know he did throwing an ashtray at him would be totally acceptable in my honest opinion, if it did in fact happen. But to use it to imply that there is some type of personality flaw is totally laughable.

They did not divorce, they are still together and what happens between them should remain between them.

4. He might have gone to Iraq, but he still doesn't know what's
going on there! Hell, they even said this morning that Cheney's trip to Iraq was done under so much secrecy and security, even the Country's Prime Minister wasn't told he was coming until he arrived in a meeting and found Cheney there!

Talk about a protective bubble!!!!

10. The story, and a couple nicknames of the NC-17 variety...
... link at http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/18cheney.html .

I like to think of Dick (or GW) as either:
1) suppurating pustules on the asshole of life, or
2) pus-encrusted, week-old used Kotexes attempting to pass for human beings.

is much like going on a trip to Mars at Disneyland. What on earth does it have to do with reality?
