Freep-holes ruminate upon "life over an infintesimal decrease in liberty"

They'll climb higher. Large majorities of Americans will vote for life over an infintesimal decrease in liberty.
They may go really, really high if the dims start talking impeachment for this NSA stuff. High enough that the next election may be a complete reversal of what the dims and the media are hoping for. As for me, I'm in the disapproval mode because President Bush caved again to McCain. But if he needs foot soldiers to fend off the huns trying to impeach him, I'm available.

The President and his team have woken up to the fact that the media will not get the real story out about what is happening in Iraq and here in America.
Fortunately, they have not stuck their head in the sand and hoped for the the best. President Bush did a great job today of going on offense and telling the press and more importantly, the American people how things really are.

Remember, there were three other reasons why Bush bottomed out at the polls. One was the month long Miers debacle that hurt Bush with his base. This was solved by her withdrawal and the nomination of Alito. A second reason was Katrina. However, after the emotionalism died down, most Americans realized that the local officials in New Orleans and Louisiana were much more to blame for the chaos than the president. A third reason was the enormous run-up of gasoline prices. Supply and demand has seems to have solved that problem.

Proof enough to me that the people want tough talk from Mr President. Keep it up George!

And the winner is...

What I do NOT get is why President Bush only gets a 47% favorability rating on the economy, and 52% unfavorable. What the heck are those 52% smoking? These are the best economic conditions, in some instances, in DECADES. And anybody that thinks the President's personal ethics are down in the sewer with the former President are just plain nuts.

1. They will be singing a different tune
when they finally wake up and realize they have NO RIGHTS. Do you think Bushco will let them keep their precious guns once the neocons have taken over?

3. Everyone that supports unlimited spying on Americans
Should be required to have wire taps on their phones and surveillance cameras in their bathroom. We need to see your wife taking a shower and you taking a deuce – you know for security.

4. A decrease in...
the scope of that poor, inconsequential thing known as the Bill of Rights. :sarcasm:

Funny how they brag that America is great because we have freedom, and they sanction the erosion of the very thing that gives us our freedom.

The Constitution is what makes America different. Take away that and you have...

...well, colonies of England.

:dunce:

5. Ask them again in 08'
I'd like to ask them their opinions on spying about two weeks before the next presidential election.

7. Soooooo, let me get this straight...a little white lie about a consensual
act of sex between two grown adults is MORE criminal than breaking CONSTITUTIONAL laws left and right?!?!?!

I'd love to see what would happen if these people found their names on the list of those being "monitored" by King George? It is really scary that these people can't grasp the implications of what he admitted to doing.

It is also really scary that they would do anything to protect him from breaking the law. They really have forgotten the reason for having Constitutional rights in this country. Not to mention what history has to show us can happen when leaders scrap their country's laws to "protect" it's citizens.

It's been said before, but damn itt this is EXACTLY what Hitler did.
