Harriet Miers Nomination makes perfect sense now

Bush apparently knew that this issue was in the New York Times'
hands, and it was only a matter of time. At the time of the Miers
nomination it was surmised that the President wanted someone on the
Court who would be sympathetic to some of his administration's legal
interpretations of his war powers.

.. Bush is playing Supreme Court roulette with his legal interpretations.

By the time it comes to SCOTUS, the court will presumably be packed
in his favor.
