Yet ANOTHER Freeper angle, now that Carter is debunked
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 02:29 PM by Can o Beans
Me: Here's proof that Carter and Clinton acted with proper checks and balances, and that Bush did not and is committing a crime.

(Walks away reading it)...(Comes back after donut break)...

Freeper: "Yeah, there is a difference. But since Pelosi and Harry Reid knew about this long ago, they are equally responsible because they did not try to stop it. If Bush is impeached, the demoncrats have to be impeached with him because they knew...and did nothing.

They really are getting desperate.

6. Amazing...
It’s amazing how all of Bush’s self-inflicted crimes, errors, failings, omissions, etc are somehow are “our” fault.

12. Its the standard Repub syndrome
1- We didnt do anything wrong

2- OK, it was wrong, but Democrats did the same thing

3- OK, Dems didn't do the same thing, but they knew about it and should have stopped it

4- OK, Dems didn't know about it, but it was their policies that led to it.

5- Why are you still harping on that scandal, it happened ages ago.

8. Pelosi, Reid and the rest were not allowed to even MENTION it
Pelosi is trying to get her letter and the reply she got declassified to show she complained bitterly, but since no one could legally talk about it or do anything about it officially, there was ZERO oversight. Graham, who was consulted, was LIED to. They never said anything about not using the courts.

10. Let this be a lesson to us
Not that we should become the adversary we loathe and imitate his sleazy tactics, but keep pressing and pressing. Don’t let them up for an instant, and rebut every new argument that comes along. Stay on it, don’t let them make some nonsense point and walk away thinking they’ve carried the argument. Go back, even if it takes a day or two, and wallop their new talking point.

11. Frankly if it means getting Bush and his cronies out of office
I'm willing to let Pelosi and Reid go. It would be better for the country. Would it suck for them? sure but Bush is a disaster that continually gets worse than I ever dreamed.

15. Do they worship this guy as the Second Coming? I don't get it.
How do you defend this. Remember when we were children and we'd go to our parents and want to do something because everyone else was doing it. Did they say okay? No, mine called BS, and say no.

19. Sounds like what McCain told the Washington Post about Rockefeller
Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.) revealed Monday that he had written to Vice President Cheney the day he was first briefed on the program in July 2003, raising serious concerns about the surveillance effort.

. . .
In response to a question about the letter, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) suggested that Rockefeller should have done more if he was seriously concerned. "If I thought someone was breaking the law, I don't care if it was classified or unclassified, I would stand up and say 'the law's being broken here.' "

So, does that mean tht McCain will oppose any attempt to go after whoever leaked this story to the Times? After all, the leaker did exactly what McCain says should have been done - they stood up and said, "the law's being broken here."

21. and had to wait a YEAR for the story to run because chief chimpy
threw a tantrum and prevented the story from being run.

I just don't get how MUCH abuse of power it takes to convince some Americans that it has gone too far! These people that think it is okay to "monitor" people without a warrant that could be obtained retroactively and from what I can tell REALLY easily must not understand that the ONLY reason to skirt that process was to engage in ILLEGAL and UNCHECKED spying on people that really were not true threats.

I'm not buying the excuse that they didn't want terrorist to know they were doing it. The terrorists aren't that stupid. But apparently enough of the American population is stupid enough to believe THAT as an excuse from their president!

20. And they probably should have spoken out!
It would have been a real profile in courage to do so and they would have had a hard time getting any jury to convict.

I would say, if that's the case, call their bluff, tell them fine, it's still worth doing, I'll trade a Senator and a Congressman for a tin horn would be dictator President any day.
