5. Of Course.....
After all, General Electric is who owns MSNBC. Just cause the allow Olberman to make money for them, in the end GE gets to decide which direction the news is going to go in!

24. I agree FrenchieCat, we have to go up the food chain.
NBC is just a puppet organization or mouthpiece for G.E.

19. pity it's already been debunked
it would have been fun to suggest that we should make Clinton president again long enough to impeach him. ;-)

And then Bush gets his turn.

said the "source" was unreliable and that no one has done an endrun around oversight on this kind of thing since Nixon.

7. No, it wouldn't. Illegal is illegal
Spying on Americans without warrants = impeachment, regardless of whether there's an R or a D after the president's name.

Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 04:56 PM by indepat
and is protected by this Congress which would never, under and circumstances, vote to impeach, much less convict; the MSM who doesn't expose him (NYT holding the spying story until more than a year after the 2004 national election); and tens of millions of Americans who would, if this were just before the 2004 election, still chant in idolatrous throngs, four more years, four more years. For good measure the Supremes installed him and no serious official inquiry has ever been made into serious allegations of voter fraud to the best of my knowledge. We have met the enemy and it is us (pogo). ;)

and Bush went through a red light, at 60 MPH, drunk and hitting a school bus full of kids.

But they both drove through a red light. What's the difference?

17. Clinton used it in a specific spy case, Aldridge Ames
He was a government agent who was selling government secrets to foreign hostiles.

Hardly the same as using a blanket policy for 4 years surveilling over 10,000 people.

I wonder if MSNBC will remember the facts - or just whore itself out to the GOP via Tweety or Tim?

27. CNN also just says whatever they want
CNN just had a phone call from Vic-whore-a Toensing saying the same thing about Clinton, Jamie Gorelick and Aldridge Ames supposed illegal search. Jeff Tobin said that he didn't know if they got a FISA court approval within the 72 hours but that the case was never brought to court because Ames pleaded guilty. Tobin implied that either way it does not matter because the case was never challenged in court.

Right. Gotcha.

So we can expect a grand jury to be empaneled, say, tomorrow afternoon?

26. Clinton did not break the law - indeed his non-criminal contempt fine was
all they got him on (and he could have beat that in many ways - mostly better prior action but still could beat it in 2001, IMHO) He chose in 2001 to end the GOP game.

At the time of Ames - 93 - physical searches were not a violation of FISA.

In 94 Clinton had the law changed so that physical searches now go through the FISA procedure.

Do you think a little criminal infraction like that would have escaped detection by the Eagle-eyed Ken Starr?

I fear this is just another one of those "but you guys did it too" justifications (number 257, and counting).

31. im guessing
that this msnbc report, that they felt they needed to send me a damn email about making believe it was big breaking news is nothing more than Abrahms show in which he had James Bamford on-author of Body of Secrets and an intel insider for a long time. He said this is the first time this has happened since the Nixon admin. Clinton's were not illegal and had warrants.
