What Republicans want you to believe...
Only they are capable of protecting this country and they are more "patriotic" than you.
They are more "moral" than you and Jesus is on their side.
They are "conservatives" -- with your tax dollars and in all budget matters.
Almost all of the military is Republican and do not support the "weak" Democrats.
The President is an "honest and moral" man and would never lie to the American people.
The Democrats have declared "war on Christmas" and the Republicans are there to defend the Christians.
Only Democrats, mostly in the blue states, rely on "welfare" from the government.
You can never spend too much on the military.

Unfortunately, they are wrong on all counts.

Merry Christmas!

2. One more....
If a company does well, the CEO is a masterful entrepenuer.
If a company fails, the greedy hourly workers brought them down.

Every time.

We are the "culture of death". (Dying with dignity is a bad thing, let your Republican leaders make the call for you instead).

4. Lets Resolve in 2006 to Pitch Fork Every Goddamned GOP Assault on Dems
Here is a small Georgia towns weekly newspaper columnist with another of his dripping insipid commentaries on the weighty problems of the nation--a Bush Assault on the U.S.Constitution and our American Values and way of life. How about your comments as to what you think of his points of view that he shares with the ridge runners and uneducated in the Douglas County Georgia trailer parks?
Don't be bashful, let her rip, no holds barred. I plan to see him sometime in January near by south Florida winter haven and thrust a stick in his eye so to speak. IF someone has access to our brother in arms, the great American Patriot William Rivers Pitt please ask him to respond as well.

WILLIAM PENN FALLIN
Columnist

GUILTY OR NOT GUILTY? OF WHAT?

America’s mainline media are again attacking President Bush. They hate Bush with a passion and will do anything to “get even” for the impeachment of Bill Clinton. They want blood, Republican blood.

Shortly after 9/11/2001 Congress passed a resolution authorizing President Bush to wage war against terrorism. And shortly after that they passed the Patriot Act.

Congress didn’t declare war against any particular country for a good reason; terrorists were known to be operating in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, Kuwait, The Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries. To declare war against all of them was unwise; many of those governments were helping us in our war against the terrorists. Pakistan, Jordan and Kuwait, among others, come to mind.

During war, nations spy against their enemy. When that enemy’s forces are operating within your own territory you use whatever means you can to identify and defeat them. Mr. Bush did that. Had he done less he would have been properly condemned by his political opponents.

Our spying turned up many plots, one of which was a plot to assassinate Presidents Bush and Musharraf of Pakistan. And that plot was successfully thwarted.

Inside the US our government is forbidden to spy on its own citizens, (without a warrant signed by a judge) even if those citizens are in fact helping the enemy. The Patriot Act and the Congressional resolution authorizing Mr. Bush to wage war against the terrorists, made it possible to do that if sufficient evidence was produced to justify the action. Since then many more plots have been uncovered and prevented.

Some politicians today are so intent on bringing down a sitting Republican president they will do literally anything even when it’s against the better interests of America. This past week Democratic leaders accused Mr. Bush of everything short of treason, just for doing his job.

Although this situation is complicated and confusing it is apparently legal for our intelligence services (CIA and others) to intercept messages from those operating from foreign soil. Let’s accept that supposition and try to follow it to its logical conclusion.

Let us suppose that at 5:32 PM on Monday the CIA intercepts a message from someone in Pakistan to a suspected terrorist inside the US. And he happens to be a US citizen. During that conversation he is informed by his Pakistani contact, “the plan takes effect Wednesday; put the plan in motion.” He immediately begins making phone calls.

But we have a problem. Although we now have sufficient evidence to get a warrant we don’t yet have a warrant to tap his line for calls WITHIN the USA. We must first locate a federal judge and get a warrant. However by the time we do that the man will have completed his calls and the plan will be activated.

However, (in reality) we have listened but we CANNOT USE the information because we acquired it without a legal wiretap. Our CIA must suppress the information or be charged with committing a felony. And if the President of the USA orders it used he is guilty of committing a felony.

Where is the logic? Where is the common sense? Does any American honestly want their president not to use information that could possibly prevent cold blooded murderers from killing thousands or perhaps millions of Americans?

I believe President Bush is legally entitled to spy on anyone who is suspected of trying to kill Americans. I believe Mr. Bush is also convinced of that. But the Democrats want him impeached for doing his job. Mr. Bush’s critics are demanding that he be condemned for doing something akin to the example detailed above.

If such authority does not now exist then Congress should pass enabling legislation and do it before the Patriot Act expires on Feb. 6, 2006.

The Democratic leadership is playing with fire if it continues to attack the President for doing his job, for defending the USA and for protecting its citizens. They will richly deserve to be turned out of office for such deeds.

I believe a vast majority of Americans see through this ugliness that is being heaped on Mr. Bush from the extreme left wing party of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and their followers. They surely know the damage they are doing and for them to continue is inexcusable.

5. When Mr. Fallin extracts his head from his anus
Edited on Sun Dec-25-05 12:16 PM by Warpy
he might realize that the FISA courts can react within minutes, and that warrants have been issued up to three weeks after a wiretap has occurred. He might also realize that not once has his scenario occurred. Not once.

Of course, if he ever extracts his head from his anus, he's going to realize a lot of unpleasant little facts, not the least of which is that he's been lied to for years by sharp dealers who have been picking his pockets and destroying everything that this country ever offered its citizens.

I guess he prefers the view of shit to reality. I think if I were that big a fool, I might agree.

6. Excuses...
Show us the proof that the FISA courts are irrelevant in todays world before you take it upon yourself that you can spy or do anything you damn well please because you are a Republican president. If Hillary was president, I guaran-damn-tee they would not be so docile.

10. Yes, and we need to be doing something to counter it
I'm tired of letting the right-wingers set our agenda and talking points for us.

Or do we do it to ourselves? I can't count the number of times that a democrat has told me to get out of the party because i support gun rights. What they (the people who tell me that) don't know, is that i'm to the left of them! I support gun rights for the workers because we need our firearms to defend ourselves against a future govt that will stomp all over us. But the Dem party is becoming so exclusive that they're driving away anyone who doesn't support ALL their talking points. How is a pro-life christian going to ever vote Dem? Christians have far more in common with liberals than conservatives. Heck, Jesus WAS a liberal. And the early church was communistic. But nowadays many many christians vote Rep because of one issue... abortion... because they feel alienated from the Dem party.

We need to open the doors and be more inclusive. We don't all have to agree on everything. We just need to agree on one thing... Bush has to go and we need real leadership back in the White House.

9. More than anything, it's that the rich are being persecuted and cheated
They shouldn't have to shoulder their fair share of the cost to keep the country running because they give us so much by their very presence. The number one presmise one has to swallow these days to buy into the conservative mindset is that the rich are being absolutely abused.
