Poll question: Gun Control and abuse of Presidential powers
Edited on Sun Dec-25-05 03:36 PM by Lost-in-FL
With all the news about wiretapping civilians without proper orders (knowing that your President is now using Executive powers to check on the public and God knows what else he's been getting away with), stealing elections, etc. Has your views on gun ownership changed?

1. YOu can't pick and choose rights. You either have them or you don't.
What you're seeing now, IMHO, is exactly what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they went to the trouble of spelling out the Second Amendment.

Pretty clever folks, sez I.

3. you're right
I hate to say that but you are

I am scared for the first time in my life that this country is going to change radically and not for the better

people need to defend themselves--if not from the government then from those who are emboldened by those in power

I think that we're heading down a dark and dangerous path and lord only knows what's going to happen in the near future

5. ''if not from the government then
from those who are emboldened by those in power''

see, that's the part that bothers me -- those are the folks that i think will lose their minds.

and if our armed forces are continuously involved overseas -- then what help can there be from these rabid fucks?

4. Always been pro-protection and always will be
I can't rely on the govt to protect me and i certainly can't rely on the cops to protect me, so i'll keep my firearms and protect myself when need be.

I have no problem with some restrictions on bazookas and tanks, although it would be cool to have them too.
