President Pelosi! Been hearing more about this recently
I thought I was very far out in la la land with the PResident Pelosi scenario, but now I hear about it on liberal talk radio. Okay, maybe there's just one other guy out there talking about it and he and I are the only ones who want to discuss it!

I know it's a long shot, but what do you all think? Please try to be gentle, I am trying to find a silver lining in some deep political clouds!

1. I'll put this as gently as I can:
Pelosi is NOT a good candidate, IMO.

I'll leave it at that, because delineating why I feel that way would not be gentle. ;-)

5. Maybe I should have given the scenario
as I fear some might have misunderstood my post.

The scenario has almost nothing to do with which individual Dem we want to run for President. The scenario is that if we get back the HOuse and Senate in 06 and impeach Bush and Cheney, we get President Pelosi because, with a Dem House, she will be Speaker and will succeed to the presidency.

6. even so
my statement stands.

Pelosi, despite some very polite and infrequent statements, has presided (as minority leader) over one of the worst periods in the history of the Democratic party. The dems have needed strong leadership, not acquiescence, which is what Pelosi has provided the GOP majority, for the most part. If you recall, she went on the record as supporting the illegal invasion of Iraq, rather than stand up to the rethugs. That's something that I simply cannot overlook.

7. The real question is - who should be the new Speaker of the House....
in January 2007 and possible President IF we get rid of both Chimp and Cheney. I don't believe Pelosi is up to the job, and her so called #2 Steny Whore isn't even remotely a consideration.

How about John Conyers?

11. An article in New Republic has just the opposite view
of the Pelosi/Hoyer relationship. Acording to this writer, Pelosi is a flaming liberal and Steny is a moderate and they don't like each other one bit.

What's with Pelosi, then? Is she not liberal enough, does she not serve her constituency well, too angry or not angry enough?

Just askin'.
