A deliveryman came by my wife's store.
He seemed to have something on his mind.He brought up the Iraqi war. After discussing some of the terrible events of the war with my wife he blurted out, "If the French had went in with the US, we would'nt be in the mess we are in." My wife thought to her self,"Good God." He had mentioned that he liked to listen to a little O'Reilly. This the kind of ignorance we are up against.

It's like a collective external locus of control.
We have become such a society of blame. Everybody blaming somebody else instead owning their own mistakes. Right on up to Bush. He never seems to say, "This was MY mistake. I did this wrong."

6. Perhaps your wife could've played devil's advocate and said:
"The French, they are a peculiar race... they fight with their feet and **** with their face."

This would at least have gotten him into an agreeing mood. Then she could've followed up with, "So why on earth would you have wanted those fools as part of our grand coalition?" (IF she could say this with a straight face, that is.)

I hope everyone realizes that I am not disparaging the French, but am being sarcastic. I gained a great deal of respect for the French when I saw how they resisted the INSANE PLANS of our tin-pot dictator. At the time when the idiot wingnuts began screaming about "freedom fries", I resolved to make a conscious effort to buy French products.

7. Then why weren't we smart enough to know that?
If we needed the French to help us we should not have acted like imbeciles and tried a diplomatic way of enlisting their help. And if that did not work then we should have been smart enough to realize we can't do it without the French and not done in alone.

Sheesh. What reasoning.

10. Did he mean we'd have ended to occupation by now? Good
Good. I wish we would be out of there, and if it takes another country to provide the impetus to end the Iraq occupation, so be it.

12. The US needs France to win a war against a small 3rd world country?
So, he essentially is saying that France's military is more powerful than the US?

Poor ignorant idiots...blaming the Iraq mess on everyone but the real culprit.

At least France and the UN saw through all that bullshit Bush and his Administration were making up and had the guts to stand up against those criminals.

16. Chirac's veto was the result of a secret deal with Bushco
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 01:24 PM by TheBaldyMan
and the pair of them stabbed everyone in the back.

result: no UN so US can do what it wants and can tell everybody in coalition of the backstabbed what to do. None of the first Gulf war consultation rot. At least that was the plan.

The neo-con fantasists actually thought that America could go it alone. Now they're trying to convince everyone that "Quagmire Accomplished" was what they planned all along or someone elses fault.
