Empowering Democrats in 2006

Recently, a few people have asked here what we think we can do to empower Democrats in 2006. When I think in terms of empowerment, I think of building up confidence and being supportive of others, and enlightening and educating both the people of our country and our leaders.
The blogosphere is a tool that liberals and progressive can use wisely to empower the Democratic Party — or it can be used to further divide the party. We’re a diverse party with many ideas and ideals. We can agree or disagree on those ideas and ideals, but it’s always important to find common ground. Sometimes finding common ground means standing in support of leaders we don’t always agree with, in order to strengthen the party. I’ve said many times there are no perfect politicians, as there are no perfect individuals.
