Mark Crispin Miller article in SJ Merc-News! First MSM print coverage?
In today's (1/1/06) San Jose Mercury News, there was a half page article by Mark Crispin Miller on election fraud! Can anyone tell me if MCM (not to be confused with MSM) has had any mainstream print coverage before this?

The article was on the back page of the "Perspective" (opinion section), and was part of a series of articles co-sponsored by the Merc and the Commonwealth club. The article was basically a condensed version of MCM's book talk that I saw when he came through town last fall. He mentions the Kerry conversation, and something I didn't remember hearing before , that a few days after Kerry denied his comments to MCM, Jonathan Winer a Kerry friend and confidant wrote an article saying Kerry "has been saying for some months now he believes the election was stolen".

Because it's a "sponsored" series of articles, it appears in a different typeface than the other opinion pieces, as if it were an advertisement, like ads for Zig Ziglar motivational speaking appearances, or the One Day Only! Coin, watch and Jewelry purchasing scams that blow through town...hopefully that won't deter readers from checking it out...

Sorry, I don't have a link to the SJ Merc article, don't even know if it's in the online edition or just the print edition I read it in; there was a link at the end of the article saying you could get a CD of the whole speech at www.commonwealth.org

So, maybe this isn't HUGH!1!1!1!
Perhaps it's Hugh Jr.?
or at least Hugh's lefty Brother-in-law who talks politics at Christmas dinner?
anyway, it can't be bad...

1. It doesn't seem to be on line.
:(

But, it's good to hear that they ran it.

2. Jonathan Winer is a friend of Kerry's?
apart from that interesting side note, it's very intersting that the Merc would be running this story. I'm up in the North Bay and don't usually see the merc, but if it's there, then I would expect for Bernie Ward, and Ray Talifaro and other radio talk show hosts to talk about it on their shows..

If you can stay on top of this, and send the info to Bernie that would be great because this story has NOT been picked up in the MSM to my knowledge...

and it's about TIME that it did..

And by the way, Thank You for posting this!

4. Yeah, for 35 years. And Winer worked for him.
From the Frontline website on The Choice in 2004: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/choice2004/interviews/winer.html

Frontline: Can I take you all the way back to the first time you met him (Kerry)?

Winer: When I met John Kerry, I was only 17 years old, and he was 27. He was running for Congress. I was the editor of my high school newspaper in Massachusetts. … He relatively recently had come off his Vietnam Veterans speech, which I and everybody else had seen. So it was a pretty big deal to interview him. …

Funny, btw, I haven't heard any attributable reports that Winer has said this about Kerry. I wonder if it's true?
