Dem Gary Ackerman, NY, needs to be primaried
I was doing my duty, listening to that lying sack of Sean Hannity, and he had a very conservative congressman on - he said he was Sean's good friend, he said he did not like Howard Dean at all, and he said that the Democratic party had better get tough on national security or they will lose even more seats in November. Imagine my SHOCK - yes, my SHOCK, to find out he is a DEMOCRAT from Bayside, NY!!! Here are some of the things he said:

That he would be okay with us attacking Iran, comparing the president of Iran to Hitler.
That even if he knew Saddam had no WMDs, he would have voted to invade, this time comparing Saddam to Hitler.
That he did not like Howard Dean as Dem chair
That the Dems would lose more seats in Nov if they did not get "tough" on national security.
That he was always on the right side of an issue, because he went out to dinner with his good "buddy" Sean, and got his opinions from him (implied.)

Well - why is this POS a Democratic congressman from the city of NY??? I wrote to him and told him I would support anyone who primaried him. Here is the address to get into his Mail Web:
Northern Blvd.
Bayside, NY 11361-3505

Here is the link to his web page:

Please write him and send him some DU love!!!

1. Center of NY DEM party is far to the right....
of the nat'l party.

Tradition of swing voters electing RW DEMS to senate ( Moynihan, Hillary, Schumer) and congress ( Ackerman, Engel, Weiner) but ditching the party if the DEM is seen as too leftish ( they swung to Damato over Bob Abrams in '92 and ditched mayoral candidates Mark Green and Fernando Ferrer in favor of republican Bloomberg.

Unqualified support for Israel is a big thing, though there are other factors.

The state DEM party can nominate whomever they want for office. I no longer give them $$$, because of the Ackerman -like mentality that prevails.

2. Support for Israel, Civil Rights
is the priority among many New Yorkers, including Dems. Non-Jewish New Yorkers are also very pro-Israel.

4. I think he has been
because of redistricting, but I may be wrong. He's a twelve term congressman. Bayside is a unique district. I don't think so. The district is at least 5 to 1 Democratic.
