1. Weird .....I just heard them announce that 13 died in the helicopter crash
Four were civilians though...so I guess they weren't counted. I wondered if they were "contractors" from Blackwater, though. I wonder if all the contractor deaths are counted in casualty figures.

3. Different incidents --
5 marines killed over the weekend, plus a crash that killed 8 marines and 4 US civilians (contractors). 17 total in the last 48 hrs.

4. Contractors are not counted in military casualty figures
Nor were they ever. Plenty of contractors died in Vietnam, for instance, and they were not counted. Cover-up? Perhaps. But mightn't it also be that the DoD is responsible only for counting those who are within the auspices of the DoD?
