Poll question: If Cheney leaves office, who will Smirk choose to replace him
Crashcart had another episode, dispelling rumors that he has no heart. Who will * choose to live in the undisclosed location if Dick can no longer serve?

10. I think if impeachment comes into view, Crashcart will quit
If Smirky' on his way out, the GOP doesn't want Dick in there - he will quit for "medical reasons" and someone who could actually have a chance in 08 will take his place.

2. Charles Manson
Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 12:32 PM by Benhurst
He's only responsible for the deaths of a handfull of civilians (making him much more attractive than Cheney), and he hasn't taken any money from Abramoff. A perfect choice for the Bush Crime Family.

Edited for typo :spank:

Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 12:39 PM by adigal
voting for Condi in droves. Condi replacing Cheney would assure a Democratic president in '08 because of the inherent prejudice in the republican party. They wouldn't vote Dem, but they would just stay home.

15. Not just southern white men.
Geesch - the South doesn't have the market on racism.

In fact, we're probably more advanced in dealing with it since we have more black people down here - and don't pretend it doesn't exist like CERTAIN other parts of the country. :eyes:

37. And here's what i called those white racists
I'm white, mind you, and I called them niggers because of their evil souls. No racial slur intended; just intended to use their own hatred against them..

30. Racism does exist, of course, in other parts of the country
I never implied it did not. But it exists in the south, and the south has the history of segregation, cross burning, and denying black voters the right to vote much more than the north. Even today in Georgia, they are working on legislation to make it more difficult for the poor/black to vote. They are NOT doing that in NY or New Hampshire, it's Georgia, which is in the South.

24. I'm not so sure
These people place idealogy above all. I'm from the south, and I remember that Alabama elected a housewife with a high school education governor in 1966 because they understood that she was running as a puppet for her husband, George Wallace.

The message would be made clear that Condi would be VP, but the cabal would still be in control.

According to James Risen's book, "State of War", Condi is weak and out of touch. She spends much of her time protecting GW from any bad news and stroking his ego. With her as VP, the neocons would still be running the show.

28. That's my thought
and with hate radio providing 24/7 propaganda for her, her miserable failure as a member of the Rove admin would be turned into a thundering success. Many here have posted that the racists in the GOP will not vote for a black woman - I think they're so ignorant that they'll vote for whomever Limpballs tells them to vote for.

7. gotta happen before impeaching Doobie
a serious point for the Democratic leadership to consider: it would be absolutely disastrous if Cheney were to take over the helm from Doobski. Whether he would or not is irrelevant, he should not have the choice. This needs to be an Agnew/Nixon double play.

12. It will *not* be McCain.
I don't know why anybody would suggest McCain. Bush doesn't even like the guy. Why would he select somebody who he views as being his ideological opponent? Nothing ChimpCo has done in the past five years indicates that he will pick a perceived moderate as a replacement Veep. Instead, ChimpCo will pick another ideologue.

People are talking Rice up, but I do not think it will be her. I voted with "Other" because I just don't know who it might be. However, if Crashcart takes a dive ChimpCo will appoint another scary ideologue.

32. I don't think he will pick McCain, but for different reasons
With all the charges out there, if Bush picks a VP that the Republicans can see as President - impeachment hearings will begin quickly. Especially with McCain having the reputation of reformer and straight talker, it would be a no brainer for the House to save themselves by Scapegoating BUSH. The Senate would likely happaily vote to convict.

What Bush would want is someone totally aligned with himself - so his goals continue - or someone that people see as worse (but who could still be confirmed).

34. Good points, plus one more.
These are just more reasons why Chimp would never appoint McCain as Veep.

And add the following...

McCain is a sitting Senator from a state with a Democrat governor. Appoint McCain to Veep and Gov. Napolitano will appoint a Dem to fill his seat in the Senate. ChimpCo would rather die than give up a Senate seat.

Look here: I'm the president and I tell other people what's what. Stop waving that damn piece of paper around. It's not unconsitutional if I'm a 'War President'.

It's probably the only choice that won't make him look dumber than he already does.

23. How about Gerald Ford?
He has experience standing in for corrupt vice-presidents not to mention issuing those all important presidential pardons if necessary.

He's one of the few Republicans untouched by the Abramoff scandal.

He's one of the few Republicans who's sort of a loveable father (grandfather) figure. (There is Bob Dole who could be someone's crochety old grandpa but sadly Liddy seems to have--er received some favors--from Abramoff)

It'd be cool to have Betty back in the White House--I always liked her and she did good work on drug abuse.

Of course old Jerry's health is none too good but then neither is Cheney's. He'd present a kinder gentler face for the Republican Party and would pose no challenge to those running in 2008.

What do you think.

26. Could you imagine if Ford actually became Prez thru impeachment again??
Well, Tricky Dick wasn't actually impeached, but you know what I mean....

If Jerry was in better health, I wouldn't be surprised.

The only reason the TinMan ever got in as Veep was because he picked himself.

Given the way this Fraudministration has rewarded failure, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually picked Tom Delay to be Chimpy's new string puller :scared:
