KOS: Give Progressive Activists a Raise!
Interesting article from the Kos web site.

There are valid points in the post. Too many progressives have worked long hours for slave wages and little appreciation from the upper management. Kos argues that the conservative groups do a better job of cultivating their work force through pay, promotions, and confidence building.

I would argue that progressive organizations are at a financial disadvantage. While conservative think tanks and advocacy groups rake in tons of Fortune 500 donations and generous gifts from super-rich conservative families, the progressive orgs have to rely on more meager donations to survive. I don't see how staff at progressive organizations can make a good salary with benefits if the employers can't tap the big corporate money machine. The annual budgets with conservative groups are much larger; they have enough revenue to contribute hefty pay increases and handsome perks.

Instead of complaining about why progressive activists are getting short-changed, we should focus on fund raising results. If you raise more money, you can keep your talented staff on the payroll.
