An aside ... an observation about Frank Lautenberg

This guy is, quite literally, old enough to be Cheney's father. And watching him today as he discharged his unfortunate but purely ceremonial duty to introduce a Supreme Court nominee from his home state, it occurred to me how fit he is. Particularly striking, actually, when we recognioze that Dr. Doom was in the hospital aGAIN for some issue or another.

Watching him speak, watching even as he walked off after speaking, he's in damned good shape for a guy in his 80s. Hell, he's in good shape for a guy in his 60s!

Of course, I've always admired him for his views and his staunch Democratic principles.

Go Frank! This writer is a real admirer of yours!
