machines and any others, they know that a lot of people will not vote because that believe (they did)that the repugs stole the elections. Look how long the Abramhoff thing has been going on since 1994, how do we know that they haven't stolen any other congressional elections.

I heard that hillary clinton was trying to do something last year but otherwise I haven't heard anything else. What are the senators and congressmen doing?

3. The paper trail means nothing unless there are mandatory audits.
And someone actually does the audits correctly.

5. "they" are not doing very much at all.
there is a bill, HR550, which would require a paper trail, and a 2% audit of the paper vs. the computer count. the bill can't reach the floor for a vote because the repubniks own the process. even if it passed, it would not mend the system. most dems are doing NOTHING, except ignoring the problem.

7. If you haven't heard anything, you're not going to the ERD forum.
There are by now a thousand articles and books about the stealing of our democracy by voting machines. That's not to mention the thousands of posts on DU by TIA and others.

As to what the Dems are going, that depends. There are a lot of co-sponsors of Rush Holt's bill which is being held up by Repubs in Congress and they are trying to do something (sort of). As far as I know, there is no congressman who has this as the number one issue -- which it should be FOR ALL DEMOCRATS.

Then, there are the Dems who have sold out to the voting machine companies themselves for whatever reason, whether gold or ignorance. They're doing something, albeit the opposite of what they shoud be doing.
